The Hospital:
UCH is an accredited Critical Access Hospital Chest Pain Center by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care and an Emergent Stroke Ready Hospital by the IL Department of Public Health. We were also recognized as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission.

Anna is centrally located in the heart of Southern Illinois’ rolling hills. Our community offers a home town feel, but is within driving distance to larger, more populated cities, which include Carbondale, IL, Marion, IL or Cape Girardeau, MO and is within a 2-hour drive to St. Louis, MO.
Anna is often referred to as the "Napa Valley of the Midwest" with our abundance of wineries and micro-breweries, but still offer many kid friendly activities. Surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest, our region offers hiking, bike trails, hunting, fishing, horseback riding and many other outdoor recreational activities. We also offer an abundance of historic sites to visit, antique and one-of-a-kind art shops, wonderful Bed & Breakfasts, and exquisite dining experiences in our unique restaurants offering everything from good old fashioned BBQ, seafood, vegetarian meals and even authentic Swedish meals.
A minor league baseball team is located in Marion, IL with a wonderful stadium offering lots of kid friendly activities on game night. You can take in a college football game in Carbondale or across the river in Cape Girardeau. Families can also be found at the soccer or baseball fields in the spring and summer.
